A great quality antique music box in a superior quality case made in Switzerland in c. 1865. 

This music box play 8 operatic airs with a beautiful sound as you can hear in the video. There is a skin drum and 7 bells struck by bird strikers, both of which can be disengaged at will. 

The case is particularly nice, with canted corners and veneered in burr walnut, together with kingwood crossbanding to the lid, sides and corners, as well as to the interipor of the lid and to the dust lid – all of which indicate great quality and crafstmanship, and make this a beautiful music box.
