Antique ‘Buffet’ Style Antique Music Box with Bells and Drum by Paillard, c. 1895

This is a scarce and particularly fine-sounding ‘buffet’ style antique music box made by Paillard of St Croix, Switzerland in c. 1895.
The music box features a lever-wound movement with 3 bells struck by bird strikers together with a drum that can be disengaged at will. The movement has been fully serviced and is in excellent condition, with a bright sound that matches perfectly with the selection of 8 popular tunes as listed on the later tunesheet.
Ths is all housed with an inlaid rosewood case with tulipwood banding and boxwood stringing. A really fine example of a rare model of music box.
