An excellent quality 8-air key-wind antique music box made by Nicole Freres in Geneva, Switzerland in c. 1857. 

The fully overhauled movement plays a range of 8 tunes with a beautiful sound, as you would expect from a Nicole Freres music box like this. The tunesheet is original, and details the serial number 33458, along with the gamme number 1159. The serial number is also stamped on the bedplate as it should be.

The case is rosewood with an inlay to the lid. A nice feature is that it still retains both its original keys – both the larger one for winding, and the smaller one for locking the box.
