Antique Keywind Music Box by Nicole Freres, c. 1855
Sold
A very nice-sounding antique music box made by Nicole Freres of Geneva, Switzerland in c. 1855.
This music box plays eight airs – a lively selection of waltzes and polkas, as detailed on the original blue tunesheet – with a particularly nice, well-defined sound.
The musical movement has been fully serviced and is wound using an original key at the left end of the cylinder.
This is housed within an inlaid rosewood case that features a musical motif to the lid together with boxwood stringing.
