A beautiful quality and magnificent sounding sublime harmony cylinder music box made by Karrer in Geneva, Switzerland in c. 1875.

The fully serviced movement plays a collection of eight mainly operatic tunes with a lovely complex sound thanks to its twin comb sublime harmony arrangement. The tunes are listed on the original tunesheet and include Donizetti’s ‘La Favourite’ and Meyerbeer’s ‘The Huguenots’. The movement also features a tune indicator on the left hand side, and unusual operating control at the right hand side.

It is housed within an elegant case veneered with rosewood to the lid together with a musical motif inlay.
