A very attractive antique cylinder music box with 6 engraved bells and a central drum made by Karrer of Geneva, Switzerland in c. 1880. 

The fully serviced movement also features a tune indicator, a double spring for longer playing time, and three combs. 

The engraved bells are struck by a combination of hammer and bird strikers, and can be disengaged at will, and the drum is struck by 8 beaters. 

The music box plays a selection of 6 operatic and popular airs as detailed on the original tunesheet, including Verdi’s Nebuchadnezzar and Home Sweet Home. 

The case is very nice quality, inlaid rosewood with central musical motifs to both the lid and the front of the case, as well as tulipwood banding, gilt handles, and even its original key.
