A superior quality antique music box made by George Baker of Geneva, Switzerland in c. 1890. 

The fully serviced musical movement deatures a centrally mounted drum with 6 beaters together with 6 saucer bells with gilded bird strikers. The original tunesheet details 10 operatic and popular airs including The Barber of Seville, all of which play with a very nice and complex sound. 

The case is veneered in rosewood with inlays to the lid and front, together with bird's eye maple banding and boxwood stringing. 

Thanks to its size and excellent musical movement, this is a really special music box in excellent condition.
