Antique Organ Music Box by Dawkins, c. 1885

Sold

A superior quality organ music box made by Dawkins of Geneva, Switzerland in c. 1885.

The musical movement plays 6 operatic airs with a very fine sound, including Stabat Mater, William Tell and L’Immortelle.

These are detailed on the tunesheet – one that has been replaced some time ago with a Thibouville-Lamy green tunesheet, but which looks great all the same.

This is housed within an excellent burr walnut case with tuilpwood inlay mounted on an ebonised plinth, giving the box a lovely sense of proportion.

For an organ box, it would be difficult to find a better example.
